It should take no more than 45 minutes and will finish up at the Floral Hall for tea, cake and a chat. Non-walkers welcome to join us. We will use outdoor tables if possible and need to form groups there according to the Covid social distancing rules as they stand on that date.

Sunday Evening Discussions on Climate Change and Climate Justice

In response to the call for all churches across the UK to be involved with worldwide engagement with the climate crisis, its impact on poverty and the related emergency surrounding the loss of biodiversity on the planet, a series of six fortnightly group discussions are planned, starting on Sunday 5th September, leading through until after the COP26 Conference has finished its deliberations in Glasgow on 12th November.

As well as helping us become better informed on the issues, this will be a chance to explore Christian responses to this huge challenge of our times and also to pray for life, in all its forms, in our world.

We propose starting each session with a short video prepared by the Tear Fund, focusing on different aspects of this issue. The first one is entitled “What does the Bible say about the natural world?” It may be that participants will also come across helpful material to contribute to discussions or some guided reading between sessions.

Discussions will take place at St Stephen’s Church between 7pm and 8.15pm on Sundays:

5th and 19th September

3rd and 24th October;  and

7th and 21st November

It would be helpful to have an estimate of numbers beforehand, so expressions of interest please to Anna Aalders (242767) or at a.aalders@btinternet.com
