Christian unity 2009Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2009: ‘Reconcile Your People’

Once again this year the Churches of Inverness will unite to observe the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The worship this year has been prepared by Christians in Korea.

There will be a service for the Week of Prayer at St John's Episcopal Church, Southside Road, at 6.30pm on Sunday 18 January. The preacher will be the Rt Rev Mark Strange, Scottish Episcopal Bishop of Moray, Ross and Caithness. There will also be daily ecumenical prayers at the Old High Church, Church Street, at 1.05pm from Monday 19 to Saturday 17 January inclusive, led by clergy from local churches as follows:

 Monday 19 January- Ms Heidi Jones, Trinity Church of Scotland

Tuesday 20 January- Fr James Bell, St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church

Wednesday 21 January- Rev Dr Peter Howson, Inverness Methodist Church

Thursday 22 January- Very Rev Alex Gordon, St Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral

Friday 23 January- Rev John Chambers, Ness Bank Church of Scotland

Saturday 24 January- Rev Peter W Nimmo, Old High St Stephen's Church of Scotland
